Scalloped Potatoes Recipes
When it comes down to it, scalloped potatoes are a simple dish made with thinly sliced potatoes and a cream sauce. The dish is a fantastic side dish to accompany almost any main course.
- 2 lb russet potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup sour cream
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
Preheat the oven to 350°F or 180°C.
In a large bowl, combine sour cream, heavy cream, garlic, onion, salt, and black pepper.
In a large casserole dish, layer one-third of the potatoes. Top with one-half of the sour cream mixture and one-half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
