Turkey Brine Recipe

- 1 cup kosher salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 gal water
- 1 turkey
- 1 onion quartered
- 1 head garlic cloves peeled
- 2 tbsp black peppercorns
- 1 tbsp rosemary leaves
- 1 tbsp thyme leaves
In a pot, combine salt, sugar, and water. Now, stir until the salt and sugar have dissolved.
Place the turkey in the brine solution. Always remember that the turkey should be completely submerged.
Use a lid to cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.
Remove the turkey from the brine solution. Next, rinse the turkey with cold water. Then, pat dry with paper towels.
Place the turkey in a roasting pan.
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
The roast temperature of the turkey has to reach 165°F. This should take 2-3 hours.
Rest the turkey for 20 minutes before carving.
