Sloppy Joe Recipe
This recipe is for a classic sloppy joe. With ingredients such as ground beef, tomato sauce, and various seasonings, the recipe makes an ideal choice for any day.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 onion diced
- 1 green pepper diced
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 8 hamburger buns toasted
In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked well. Drain any excess grease from the pan.
Add the onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Stir until everything is evenly mixed and heated well.
Be sure to cook the meat all the way through. The ground beef should cook to an internal temperature of 160°F or above.
- Serve the sloppy joe mixture on toasted hamburger buns.
- Top with shredded cheese, diced onions, or pickles if desired.
- Sloppy joes will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. If you want to keep them longer, you can freeze them for up to 3 months. Thaw frozen sloppy joes in the fridge overnight before reheating.
